The day had begun so nicely,
the tempeture was down a degree or two.
The skies were bright and cheerful
without the smokey smell that we now rue!
Yes, the magical Central Florida
has been burning to quite a degree!
If it wasn't for brave firemen, police,and hero's
that usually you never see...
Our brave paradise, of Disney and EPCOT,
Universal and all of that junk...
would be thought of as the treasure in paradise
but now all that's been debunked!
It isn't the plastic or fireworks.
It's not even the tv...
It's Gaia and all of her splendor
that was defended by them, I believe...
so I treasured the pleasure of coolness
as I saw the sky dark today.
and I welcomed each raindrop that protected
and healed all in it's own way!
And i smiled as I went to the mailbox
inside the Post Office doors,
for I knew that we were safe from the fires
that could have killed so many more!
I put my key in the lock and turned it,
but a white packet was quite a surprise!
And i ever so gratefully opened it...
which took on the very first try!
The packet was from Kaye in Scotland
and you'd never believe what it held!!
A huge bar of Cadbury Choclate...
that could have melted in the fires of ....
(well, you know that GREAT Choclate will actually
fend off major forest fires in Central Florida these days???!!!!)
