Well! If this doesn't beat all! Here we were smug that we were getting B5 and you weren't; then we were unhappy that we weren't getting it and YOU were; now, they want to make us BOTH suffer just to even up!
My guess is that it is probably a JMS whim that this occur...so that the ending comes as a surprise to us all...no spoilers for anyone!
