Hi Gang!
Just wanted to let you know that I'm back from ZonCon! We had a great time! The Con Staff and Hotel Staff were great! It was a small event this year but we hope to see them continue (it is their 2nd year) and grow to be one of the regulars!
We have 12 NEW Members from this convention! I just wish that we had had more time in which to get together! So, I've made a new decision! We are going to get together in the evening of each event that I am attending the Convention for "The Gathering". It's a time where we can meet each other and chat about ideas. And this group had plenty of ideas!!!
Included with this new group was SJSO (Susan O'Brien - THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!), Anwenn (glad to finally meet you!!), and Kosh22 (our favorite Con man!)!!
Plans were changed so many times that I my head was spinning most of the weekend. I'll eventually get used to this as it will become a habit! Make whatever prep plans I want with the Convention staff and I will always find that they are changed...then changed again...and again...BUT we are there to let the FANS have a great time and work with the Convention Staff to help out with whatever scheduling changes that they may find themselves having to deal with. We don't mind...we would just like to find a way to have everyone who comes in as a member at the convention be kept up to date with the FAN CLUB ONLY activities!
I no sooner entered my hotel room than the red message light was blinking and I discovered a message from our fearless leader, "Uh, hi Jen! Well, I have bad news for you...we are going to have to change the Fan Club Luncheon! Wanna kill me?!!" My answer? "No Robin, I'm not going to kill you! It's getting to where I expect the plans to be changed and wouldn't know what to do if they weren't!"
Whatever plans have been made can be unmade and remade. Life is like that with Robin...ya just gotta go with the flow! I'm learning to count on the unexpected! My favorite proverb is Chinese, "He who expects nothing shall not be disappointed!" (That means when you *do* get something, it is worth all the joy you have saved up!)
