Thought that(especially about what U said at Visions...flowers.lol.) You might find this interesting. It was posted in the Zocalo.

" Some fans have dismissed Byron's long-haired followers as "hippies",
implying that their hair is merely TV shorthand for their rebelliousness.
But the metaphor goes much deeper here. The sixties generation grew long
hair, and wore it unpermed, unsprayed (and sometimes unwashed) in rejection
of the rigid and conformist values of the previous generation, which was
clean-cut and clean-shaven. The long, luxuriant hair of the rogue
telepaths is a visual sign of something film cannot show us: the radiance
of their mental energies flowing out in all directions. Unlike the
repression and control of telepathic powers within the Corps (whose members
are all rigorously coiffed), the free telepaths' psi powers are as natural
and abundant as their hair. The hair also reflects the sensuality (not just
sexuality) of a community where people allow themselves to feel
*everything* that they can feel, from themselves and from each other,
without shame or fear. While hippies often hid their faces under their
hair and beards, the telepaths' faces are all as visible to us as their
thoughts are to each other. It's no coincidence that their hair is also
very beautiful. In contrast, Lyta has never allowed her hair to grow long
and free and unrestricted, even when she was with Byron's telepaths. This
suggests that she is not as liberated as she may believe."
