When thinking about this subject, I can't help but think about one thing...On Babylon 5, aliens always refer to those who live on Earth as "the Humans" Not black humans, not white humans. Just humans. That is the way it should be. I doubt I will see it in my lifetime, but I very much like the idea. Call me naive, but that is how I feel. We are all human and our various colorings, languages and ideas are what adds to the diversity of the planet.

: Dear Eilan,

: Perhaps I think too deeply and relate one matter to another in a desperate search to quench my thirst for the reasons.

: One thing is clear in my mind and that is that is that it is most unfortunate that black is black. I sincerely believe that we as so called white¹s are brought up to believe that most things that are black are to be avoided.

: Allow me to provide some examples,

: Night time as a child is black
: Funerals are black
: We are frightened of the colour
: Death is black
: A comedy can be called a Black Comedy

: And so on but this is not a reference to the human being, it is purely a statement of fact, we are even educated to avoid many things that are black in colour.

: Dealing with the matter in this depth and watching and listening to the troubles we are experiencing is amazing to say the least.

: Can I also say that from my own experiences as an Interior Designer well I know how to use colour and to make it effect people in different ways.

: It is most unfortunate that the colour exist for human beings.

: The very colour Black is a problem in its self and I am certain that had nature allowed for another we would not be in the state we are in today.

: If you read with the depth of thought that I write you will begin to understand some of my reasoning, for example we are all used to hearing the word blacks referring to people. Sadly this is incorrect ... here is the proof.

: Portuguese are from Portugal

: Cubans are from Cuba

: Indians are from India

: Lebanese are from Lebanon

: Ghanians are from Ghana
: So why does society insist upon the use of lazy language, which results in collective untruths, by the very description and use of the word?

: I can say for certain that when I went to school we were not taught to respect any coloured person, sadly in fact we were taught in principle that white is the colour, and here I sincerely believe the trouble starts.

: Needless to say I make this comment as an opinion and with every respect to any person whom is or considers themselves black or coloured.

: : Jeffey...you have an excellent way of expressing yourself. I enjoy reading what you write. And I agree with you. Why does everything have to be black and white? I know this really has very little to do with what you said, but there are so many diversities in this country. Why do we choose skin color to obsess about? I recently saw a presentation on the topic of diversity and rather than having several people of different physical appearances present it there were only two people, both black. That is ALL they discussed. I was much angered. We are ALL diverse individuals. But why not focus on our similarities rather than our differences? I leave you with that question for I fear I am getting too wordy.

: : : Is It Really Racialism Or Is It Us ............

: : :
: : : At this time England is locked in debate over Racialism. Black and white as it is called, but there are many colours and creeds which fall into the category if it be a category at all.

: : :
: : : I am of the opinion that those of us that are white, so called, are as guilty as those others of the accusation.

: : : Why is it that each time controversy over the black and white issue occurs, we so called whites are found to be lacking in respect and manners and normal behaviour?

: : :
: : : I am ashamed for those that claim to be white, with self opinionated, clear cut prejudices which I suggest we all are guilty of, both black and white.

: : :
: : : Within any nation there are those whom cause trouble for troubles sake and these people I personally abhor. Perhaps they have good reason to do so but seldom if so, do we hear of it.

: : :
: : : It is indeed a very cruel world, however that gives none of us the selfish right to take the law into our own hands and behave as we wish.

: : :
: : : Like it or not there are lines of behaviour that our self created social society demands. The crossing of these lines without authority is clearly wrong, and if we do so, then we should expect the penalties that go with such behaviour.

: : : Sad Jeffrey
