: Willow,

: I'm not saying anything against the Good Doctor. I was a fan for many, many years. I met Patrick Trought, Jon Pertwee (who was a dear friend for 10+ years), Tom Baker, Peter Davidson, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy.

Better creds than mine! We used to live in a house which backed onto the garden of a guy in the fx department.... a pretty poor connection, I think.

: I once spent a hour or so in a Indianapolis truckstop @ Midnight with Jon Pertwee and Katy Manning. But that's a long story.

: I also met Paul Darrow, once.

: So I've my Brit Sci-Fi credentials.

: Even Jon thought the special effects were cheesy!

I'm not denying the cheese factor. I guess I'm sensitive about Brit sf - it gets a poor press even over here. Channels that will show Star Trek 4 days a week will hesitate to show more than one Brit show.

But speaking of bad cheesy fx - ITV are showing all the James Bond movies again and I just saw Moonraker for the first time in 10 years... I can't believe I never realised what a bad movie that is! Sorry, just had to mention that. It made me cringe.

Willow
