Hey Everyone!
Sorry I haven't been in the chat for the past couple weeks. School and all that. But I miss all of ya and I hope *cross your fingers* to be back this week. Anyhoo, here is what this post is really about. While searching through numerous books on poetry that my friend had lent me, I came across a poem that I had forgotten about for along time. A poem by Byron! No, unfortunately not the Byron we all know and love, but by one equally as talented. This is a poem by the one, the only, Lord Bryon!
A lovely bird with azure wings,
And a song that said a thousand things,
And seem'd to say them all for me!
I never saw its like before,
I ne're shall see it's likeness more:
It seem'd like me to want a mate,
But was not half so desolate,
And it had come to love me when
None lived to love me so again,
And cheering in my dungeon's brink,
Had brought me back to feel and think
I know not if it late were free,
Or broke it's cage to perche on mine,
But knowing well captivity,
Sweet bird! I could not wish for thine!
