Somewhere in "A better place than this" A little lizard opened his eyes. He knew his mistress loved him, and though he couldn't tell her, he knew he'd miss her too. Spike will live on in your memories and heart.
The lizard began walking, sluggishly at first, but then as the air around him warmed he saw a bridge ahead of him, in various rainbow shades. A kind faced woman picked him up, and let him sit on her shoulder, as he was tired from all the walking.
Around him and the woman he saw many different sorts of creatures that had been pets of other people.
A long slender scaly boa constrictor was curled around the woman's waist. He raised his head up to look at Spike, and hissed flickering his tongue.<
As Spike was carried and settled into a warm cage with a cool bowl of water and a plate of his favorite things to eat, a parakeet landed on the top of his cage and twittered to a grey cat that had followed her over to the cage. The cat purred and somehow Spike understood the purring.
Rainbow Bridge is the waiting point for those whose best friends are still down on Earth and the pets wait for them to come to go to Heaven with them.
There truly you and he will never be apart.
Though time flies and the years may come and go
the memories you had of him will ever burn and glow.
