: : : Hi All!
: : : Dawn (aka Xenos) brought up a good point with me regarding the negatives to original photos. She does not trust the Snail Mail any more than I do...therefore, I shall amend the directions in so much as the photographer must bring the photo and the negative to a Notary with our Release (sent via email upon request). The Release will state that for photographs the Notary must view the negative and the photo before notarizing that it is authentically original. The owner of the photograph may then keep the negative and send the photograph on...I would recommend sending it the 3-5 day Priority mail, which pretty much assures that it will arrive safely.
: : : The sharper the photo the better outcome we will have when scanning. Hmmmm....should we have some contests of the best article, best story, best poem, and best photo?
: : : And, then, what would you consider an equitable prize? (I can't *wait* to hear these!)
: : : This could be an ongoing thing, come to think of it!

: : In response to your request for items of bric a brac I can offer at the moment the following against his wishes I am absolutely sure.
: : ... A selection of the most unlikely photos of our Hero
: : ... A treasured cheese sandwich which Hero refused to eat aged eight
: : ... A selection of disgusting droppings that our Hero collected as a nipper
: : ... A label from or Hero¹s school suit ³ Robin Downes ³
: : ... A teddy bear which our Hero fell in love with or beat the hell out of
: : ... A photograph of our Hero¹s first girlfriend ( Man was she beautiful )
: : ... A part of the original dead parrot which later became the Parrot joke
: : ... A box of 79 packets of crisps which our Hero thought he had nicked
: : ... A tie that our Hero wore to his Public school ... somewhat soiled
: : ... A photograph of our Hero wearing overweight glasses age about nine
: : Unfortunately I am unable to comply with the standards you have laid down re negatives, but as these come with tears in my eyes * that will the day * from my own awfully private collection perhaps they will be acceptable as Collectors Pieces.
: : Such is the value that I think they should be auctioned or raffled with proceeds going to the Jeffrey Downes Home For Sick Frogs known locally as Mad Jeff¹s Place
: Those Photo's better stay in the attic where they belong! I have been looking for that cheese sandwich... hmmm
: Jennie, I love the idea of categories for the photos, and of course, a contest. Jeff has some wonderful (aged) prizes I'm certain will be the impetous for many snapshots at conventions.
I don't think you have to worry too much about scanning. I have a scanner that creates an image of a photograph hard to discern from the original.
Hey, guys, I'm excited with everything that is going on. Good job!
Have missed you all.
