Roles for Robin

I have an idea similar to Anwenn's, but something I've lifted shamelessly from another fan club. While you're reading, keep your eyes open for a character that Robin would be perfect to play. Then post a short review of the book (or short story, or whatever) and describe the character.

The example that comes to my mind is in a very long series of books by Katherine Kurtz. The first trilogy (yes, really!) is called the Chronicles of the Deryni.

The books take place in a kingdom that bears a strong resemblance to a fantasy version of Wales in about the year 1200. The Deryni are a variety of humans who can work magic. The problem is that in the kingdom of Gwynedd, to be Deryni is to be the worst kind of second class citizen. With certain notable exceptions.

Duke Alaric Anthony Morgan is openly Deryni. He is also tall, blond and generally very nice looking. He is also the right-hand man of the old king -- old being a relative term -- who does not survive much of the series, and the protector of the young king.

Do you get the idea? Have you read anything with a character who seems tailor made for our Robin? If so, tell us all about it!
