Don't worry I've been laughed at all up and down the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. I was born in Baltimore, but both my parents were from North Carolina so I have this weird combination accent. I also have a slight speech impediment (rare in women, or so I've read) I have trouble with hard consonants....(grin)

: The worse things we get over here are the mispronunciations - like Leicester (pro. Lester). But the worse ever heard by anyone I know was courtesy of an Australian guy looking for "Loogerborooger" or, as we know it, Loughborough (pro. Luffburra). Heck I don't even know if I just spelled that right - most places are "-borough" but some are "-burgh". It's all too complex. If you come to Scotland, be prepared to get laughed at, specially round Glasgow where the spelling and pronunciation are completely different. eg Milngavie (a suburb of Glasgow) is pronounced "Mulgye". Are you confused yet?

I'll definitely let you know how to get in touch with me. I'm staying with a lovely couple in Glasgow, the Sharkies, they have e-mail!

: I'm not that near Glasgow, I live in St Andrews which is nearer to Edinburgh. But hey, mail me anyway. Besides, if you're into golf, you'll be in the area - it's the "home of golf" allegedly.

Also, I don't much care for golf, but I do like a man in a kilt and a sword in his hand..... (evil grin)

Take Care,
WEn ;-))
