Why is it that some fish repeatedly eat their eggs?! The mommy fish strains and toils to get the little things out and then what does the daddy fish do? HE EATS THEM!!!! As most of you know, my family has a lot of Discus *sort of large fish that resemble Minbari Cruisers*. We have one pair and the female of the pair has laid eggs THREE TIMES! As a matter of fact she is in the process of doing this as I write. I think her mate is mentally challenged...you'd think he's have a working BRAIN in that big head of his but NOOOOO the eggs don't symbolize a new generation of little Discus babies for him, they're a FOOD SOURCE! lol He actually goes to great lengths to shoo the mother away from the eggs as soon as she lays a few or even while she is trying to lay some so that he can gobble them up. I think he should be reported to family services don't you all? ;) Hehehe No actually we do have a plan. We've got some other very lovely bright orange-tangerine they're called- male discus fish that would possibly make MUCH better daddy fish than he who we have named "The Mothership" because of his large size and his resemblance to a Minbari cruiser. So anyway...this was pretty irrelevant I admit but it's been WAY too quiet a round here as of late so I just HAD to post something. lol Keep your fingers crossed that "The Mothership" will get his little fishy act together and become a good father. How do you tell a fish that he's supposed to stick his thingy out and fertilize the egg...NOT EAT THEM! LOL Ok. That's all for now. ;) Talk to you all Thursday. I may or may not have eaten a lovely fish dinner between now and then... *evil grin at "The Mothership"*. Mwa-hahahaha
