Friday...
My boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel with little to no traffic problems. We went looking around the hotel to see what was going on after we settled in the room and to get our con badges. There was barely any line at the preregistration table and it was still early afternoon when we had arrived and not much was happening.We went looking in the huckster rooms and fell head over heels for a sea serpent puppet,and a baby dragon puppet. After I bought those for myself and my feller, we took them around the convention with us off and on the whole weekend.
The dragon puppet was christened Jade and the sea serpent we called Slurps.
We decided to go look for chatters, and found my friend Carver's significant other but no Carver in sight (Until Sunday in the lunch line.) We also met up with others too. One bottle of mead was drunk after dinner Friday night. My feller and I also tried to go to a talk by Marjean Holden, however we found out she was delayed at the airport by a delay in luggage --40 pieces of luggage had been left, however she did get her luggage and spoke Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday...
We got up and dressed and went around the convention, me in my black Telepath dress and he in his medieval garb. We heard the tail end of Denise Crosby's talk and Claudia Christian was a riot. She had us rolling in the aisles. We also heard Marjean had made it to the con, and saw her here and there... That woman is 6 feet tall, and I felt short compared to her.(Then again I am only 5 feet tall anyways.) I gave Marjean a chocolate orange and asked if there was a cure to being a chocoholic. She said there was no cure. We got Claudia and Marjean to sign pictures, as well as Gerrit Graham, and Laurence "Stonn/Decius" Montaigne. Laurence is pretty fluent in many european languages and said something to me in german when I asked him a question.I got Claudia to sign the box of the doll of Ivanova that I'd . My feller and I later went after dinner to the costume contest. There were many entrants and some of the skits were funny, and a few of the costumes were quite impressive.
One group of people came onstage as Vader and some storm troopers and acted as though they were singing We Will Rock You by Queen.
Another group had made vacuformed plastic armor with over 80 pieces per armor made to look like they were all one piece. They had lit up their armor too which was cool. This group was called the H-Mercs, and they won for the costumes.
One trio of women did a skit portraying the prequel ideas for Star Wars' Ep 1's Darth Maul. I took a pic of one that was based on the terror of any catholic school child's nightmares, a Nun...
There were a few Klingon skits, and one little miss was "Miss Klingon Homeworld" She had the wave down right. A pair of boys did a skit talking about differences with Klingon Scouts and Terran Boy Scouts. A man and two women did an homage to Freddie Mercury with Killer Queen as their background music. A little baby jedi wannabe had "The Cute" with him. Three men and two boys were Quigon, Anakin, Obi-Wan. Sidious,and Maul, and they sang a parody of two Village People songs to 'Anakin' -In The Jedi(In the Navy)... and S I T H (YMCA).After the costume contest was over My feller and I did some dancing at the dance until we got tired.After a while still at the dance, my feller looked up at me and dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. The only thing that ruined the proposition was that some idiot stepped on my feller's foot just after he asked me.(((...We haven't gotten a date set up or anything, but we still need to work out major details)))
Sunday We got up and packed up stuff, and we went to hear Claudia and Richard Herd's talks as well as Marjean's too. I found Claudia before her talk looking for where she was to be signing pictures, and I led her to the table. She appreciated it, and I also got her three buttons, one of which says A Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, and the second says Kneel- You are in the presence of Greatness. The third which slipped my mind said something ending with God at the end.
My feller and I bought a couple rings too and traded them right at where they were being sold.
I enjoyed myself as did my feller.
