: : Silence was abundant except perhaps for the sips of tea I took as I looked on in awe. There was no change but I felt it, and later I shall look without invading the privacy of this haven of mine locked away in amongst the Moor land country of the South West Of England

: "There was no change but I felt it..."

: The miracle of Spring is that it happens without our seeing it. One day there are only the remnants of the previous year's life, the next the hint of the new life to come, then, suddenly, the flowers and leaves appear as if overnight.

: The humbling of it is in realizing that this happens without any help from us, that we are only observers in the wonder that is this planet and it's life forms.

: The best time to feel a garden, a meadow, a forest is in the early morning, alone with the miracle.

It was also this morning, as I joined a group of people for a sunrise worship service that the true meaning of the day, the season, and the moment became one for me. As we sang the haunting, "Morning Has Broken" the sun started its journey from the underworld to the heavens above. Not a cloud in the sky but a lone chocolate seagull crossed above and the gold of the suns rays turned him into a golden dove come to proclaim spring for once, for all to notice. I think I heard the universe say, "I give to you, this day."
